We are stronger together!
After writing a few articles for Exceptional Parent Magazine, I was introduced by its editor, Faye Simon, to David Hirsch and the Special Father’s Network Dad to Dad Mastermind Group community that he founded through his 21st Century Dads Foundation.
Parenting a child with special needs is a unique experience, especially for fathers who sometimes are challenged to engage in genuine conversations about this journey. As part of my introduction to the Special Father’s Network (“SFN”), David asked about our daughter Jessica and her influence on our lives.

Since March 2024, I have become involved in weekly virtual meetings with special needs fathers in a SFN Mastermind Group. We gather each Tuesday evening to share stories of our children and families, our wins and challenges.
I’ve been involved in the disability field for a long time as a parent, advocate, and professional. These meetings remind me that despite our different life circumstances, we can all learn from each other and understand that we are not alone.
I can’t overemphasize the importance of the word: CONNECTION. It’s the glue that makes life possible.
